Interior car detailing in Sacramento, done where you park
Pet hair, kids, food and drink spills, stains, sand, everyday grime, or an interior that's been let go for a while: this is the service for it. In my interior car detailing in Sacramento, every fabric surface gets shampooed and heat-extracted, except the headliner, and then I work through the leather, panels, dash, windows and trunk. I do it at your home or office, and it starts at $200, depending on the vehicle's size and condition.

What an interior detail can and can't fix
Stains
Most stains come out. I'll tell you up front if one might not.
Urine and grease stains often come out. Fabric type and the age of the vehicle both matter, and older stains that have set in are harder.
Leather
I clean and condition leather. Faded, dry leather is unlikely to come back, and cracks, tears and worn dye are upholstery-shop work. What you can expect really depends on the condition it's in.
Dash and plastics
Where it's appropriate, a UV-protectant dressing goes on the dash and plastics. It improves the look and protects the surface, but like any dressing, it wears off with time. Some faded dashes come back with it and some don't, so on a badly faded one I'll show you a test spot first. Cracks and creases can't be fixed with a dressing.
Smells
Every odor has a cause. I'll find the source and treat it, and the treatment depends on what it is:
- Food gets an enzyme treatment and heat extraction.
- Urine is treatable as long as I know where it happened.
- Smoke takes a complete interior detail.
- Mold and mildew depend on where it is and how bad it's gotten.
- Rodents are the hardest, because the source often isn't clear and odor bombs don't reliably work on it. Rodent odors may not fully clear.
My general tool for odors is ozone treatment.
Really rough interiors
If an interior is in really bad shape, I'll still look at it and try. Some are past what I can do, and I'll tell you if yours needs to go somewhere else.
How an interior detail works at your place
- We go through the vehicle together. If there's a stain or smell I'm not sure about, you hear it from me before I start.
- I vacuum and blow out the dust, then get the pet hair out.
- Stains get an enzyme cleaner and a scrub so they release.
- Heat extraction goes over the carpets, mats and seats.
- Then the panels, crevices, leather, dash, windows and trunk.
A normal interior takes about an hour and a half. A heavily soiled one takes about 2.5 hours.
The fabric doesn't get soaked. I know how not to over-wet it after this many years, and it's usually dry in about 2 hours, longer in winter.
You don't have to provide a hose or an outlet. The extractor runs on my own water and generator, though I'll ask before using an outlet if one's handy. All I need is room around the vehicle.
What an interior detail costs
An interior detail starts at $200. Vehicle size and condition move it from there.
Heavy pet hair, deep stains and similar conditions are an additional charge based on severity. I'll tell you before I start.
For the inside and outside together, a full car detail starts at $380 for a midsize vehicle. If only the outside needs work, see exterior detailing.
I'll confirm after a quick look or a few photos.
Travel fees may apply depending on location and service, and will be confirmed with your quote.

Interior detailing questions
Do you remove pet hair?
Yes. Light pet hair is part of a normal interior detail. Heavy pet hair takes longer, and it's one of the conditions I'll talk to you about before I start.
Can you clean just one seat or one spot?
Spot work is usually an add-on to an interior detail. Something bigger, like a car someone got sick in, can be a job of its own.
Do you shampoo the headliner?
No. Every other fabric surface gets shampooed, but the headliner isn't part of it.
Do you take the seats out?
Not normally. I have the tools to reach into the crevices, so seats only come out when I need to get at the source of an odor. That's extra, and we'll agree on it first.
What do you use on the dash and leather?
On the dash and plastics, a UV protectant. 303 Aerospace is one I use. On leather, I use Meguiar's and Adam's products.
Book an interior detail
Tell me what you drive, and add what's going on inside in the notes: pet hair, a stain, a smell. A photo or two helps, and the full quote request form lets you attach them.
